Services Metering

Overview

Auto Control Systems provided a PLC based services metering solution for a major Western Australian grain handling company. The solution was integrated into the existing PLC and SCADA network with a minimum of downtime to prevent any production issues.

Natural gas, water, electricity, and waste water usage are each monitored in real-time. Flow and daily, weekly, monthly and yearly totals for each of the monitored items are stored long-term with the newly added Citect Historian.

The solution enables management to gain insight into usage cycles, giving them the tools they need to make decisions that can impact efficiency and reductions in the cost of production. These efficiencies also enable the company to reduce it’s environmental impact.
