Our Electrical Supervisor Scott, and Engineer Evgeniya, who lead our Hazardous Area team recently upgraded their qualification and accreditation in this specialised area.

Evgeniya completed her IECEx Certification which covers works in areas such as:

  • Applying Basic Principles of Protection in Explosive Atmospheres
  • Performing classification of hazardous areas (Classification Engineers)
  • Design of electrical installations in or associated with explosive atmospheres (Design Engineers)

This now provides Evgeniya with international accreditation in Hazardous Area works.

Scott renewed his qualification of UEE42622 – Certificate IV in Hazardous areas – Electrical and covers works such as:

  • Implement and monitor energy sector OHS policies and procedures
  • Compile and produce an energy sector detailed report
  • Implement and monitor energy sector environmental and sustainable policies and procedures
  • Participate in development and follow a personal competency development plan
  • Determine the explosion-protection requirements to meet a specified classified hazardous area
  • Enter a classified hazardous area to undertake work related to electrical equipment
  • Conduct detailed inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
  • Conduct visual and close inspection of electrical installations for hazardous areas
  • Install explosion-protected equipment and associated apparatus and wiring systems
  • Maintain equipment associated with hazardous areas
  • Comply with scheduled and preventive maintenance program processes
  • Maintain documentation
